Jephson Homes’ Jacky Walker is keeping other residents awake with her second novel, the grimly titled ‘Unnecessary Death.’

Walker (pictured) lives at Leicester Court, a housing for older people scheme in Leamington Spa, and her plots are always avidly followed by other residents.

Minnie Maclachlan, schemes manager for the Leamington region, said: “It is great to see a resident use their time and talents so productively. The other residents love seeing what Jacky has in store for her characters.”

In ‘Unnecessary Death,’ main character Eve Somerset is suspicious after the body of a local newspaper editor is found inside a burnt out stolen car.

“I’ve always loved reading, especially crime novels, I love all the scheming and twists,” Walker said. “So what better way to pass the cold winter than writing one yourself?”

The book, which is Walker’s second, is available from www.jackywalker.co.uk

Jephson Housing Association Group is responsible for over 16,000 affordable homes across the country.
