Young homeless people help charity launch online shop

Bristol's leading youth housing provider, Independent People has launched an online shop with the help of its residents.
Young people were involved in designing products including T-shirts, photo greeting cards and music, some of which was performed as part of the Olympic Celebrations at the Royal Opera House in July.
Artists all over the South West of England and even as far as Australia donated limited edition prints and original artworks to the charity for sale.
Young people and staff helped keep costs down by modelling in photo shoots and making handmade cards for sale.
Chief Executive Dom Wood said
"Having an online shop gives us a great platform to teach young people about business, budgeting and fundraising.
They get a real kick out of seeing things sell knowing that the money raised will go straight back into the organisation which is or has supported them.
Generous people often donate items, which we sell at festivals and events but the rest of the time those items were in storage. Now we have a virtual shop front open 24hours"
