Staff at Riverside have donated over 650 winter woollies to homeless people across the UK.

Colleagues from Irvine to Ipswich rallied around to collect coats, jumpers, hats, scarves, and gloves to give to those less fortunate than themselves.

The woollies were distributed to homeless charities local to each office, including Riverside ECHG’s own supported housing schemes like the Powerhouse Foyer in Liverpool, and the No Second Night Out initiative run by Riverside ECHG in Manchester.

Lisa Connor, Riverside’s Fundraising Manager, said: “Life on the streets is hard at any time of the year, but in the winter, with temperatures dropping, a warm item of clothing can mean the difference between life and death. We asked our staff to spare a thought for those who don’t have a home to go to and don’t have warm clothes to wrap up in.

“One of our objectives as an organisation is to provide more support to those who need a helping hand. Homelessness in particular is a subject close to our staff’s hearts, as we manage over 100 temporary housing schemes to help vulnerable people across the country. So when we asked staff to help this cause, they didn’t disappoint.”
