Kier celebrates award win in Sheffield
Kier Sheffield LLP is celebrating double success at the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Company Awards 2012 for the delivery of repairs and maintenance to around 42,000 Council-owned homes and public buildings, ranking it in the top 10% of sites in the UK.
An award-winning partnership between Sheffield City Council and Kier Group, Kier Sheffield, which was the first company in the country to register day-to-day repairs and maintenance of both housing and corporate buildings into the Considerate Constructors Scheme, was praised as ‘Exceptional’ and presented with two Bronze awards.
Kier regional managing director, Simon Bullen, said: “We are extremely proud to be presented with these awards. Over 500 companies are registered on the Scheme but only 59 received Bronze, Silver or Gold Awards this year. Receiving two awards is testament to the hard work of every member of the Kier team who work tirelessly to ensure that the residents of Sheffield are receiving the best possible service every day.”
The most recent Considerate Constructors Scheme assessment, carried out in October 2012 on day-to-day housing repairs, gave Kier full marks in two categories (Considerate and Accountable). In each of the eight sections of the Considerate Constructors Scheme Code, it is possible to score between one and five points, with three indicating compliance. Kier’s overall score of 37 points out of a possible 40 means the service has been officially classed as ‘exceptionally good’.
