Hanover Housing Association has triumphed over McDonalds and a host of other large commercial companies to scoop a gold award in the Training Journal National Training Awards. They were presented with their prize at an awards ceremony last night.
The retirement housing provider was awarded gold for the 'Best Operational Programme’ category for its innovative training initiative to develop in-house trainers who had never trained before to support the launch of a new £700K integrated housing system.
The novice trainers received outstanding feedback for delivering an impressive 1800 ‘training day places’ over a ten week period.
Andy Lancaster, Learning and Development Manager at Hanover said: “Such a programme would have been challenging for experienced trainers but to accomplish such a highly successful roll-out with newly developed in-house trainers was an amazing achievement.”
With the number of entries up by more than 50 per cent since 2010 the awards are highly regarded as one of the most prestigious within the Learning and Development industry.
Bruce Moore Chief Executive for Hanover said: “This is a brilliant achievement for Hanover’s training to be recognised with a significant national award. This highlights our on going commitment to provide excellent learning, development and support for our staff.”
