North West housing provider The Regenda Group has started work on a major new housing development in Denton, Tameside which will provide 14 affordable homes.
Martin Davies, Director of Development at Regenda said: “We are investing nearly £900,000 in this development which will provide much needed affordable homes, whether for rent or for purchase through the shared ownership scheme, in an area where there is a high demand within the local community for good quality housing.”
The new development and consists of a mix of homes to buy or rent. Seven three bedroom houses will be available for affordable rent from Regenda and seven three bedroom homes will be available for purchase from RHL (Regenda Homes Ltd) which specialises in the development, sale and management of homes through the shared ownership scheme. Homes at Wood Street will be available for purchase from RHL from £67,500 for a 50% share. The homes are scheduled for completion in March 2013.
Councillor Vincent Ricci, who represents Denton North East ward, said: “I’m very happy to give this scheme my full support. Denton, like most parts of Tameside, needs more affordable housing for its residents.”
The investment includes a grant of over £340,000 from the Homes and Communities Agency.
