First Choice Homes Oldham App for iPhone and Android

Oldham based First Choice Homes, have launched the first ever Bedroom Occupancy Calculator smart phone App.

The App, which is free to download, is the result of a partnership between Manchester agency EmeraldApps and London based Entitledto – the leading provider of benefit calculators for Housing Associations and local authorities.

From April 2013 Housing Benefit will be reduced for tenants with a spare room. The Bedroom Occupancy Calculator App helps tenants to find out if they are affected by the new rules, and provides information on actions that can be taken to deal with any reduction in housing benefit. The App, which can be used by tenants and staff alike, allows tenants who will be affected by the new rules to request an appointment with an adviser.

The main features of the App are:

• A simple form with questions about the tenant’s personal situation
• Anonymous data
• Options for dealing with housing benefit reduction
• Links to external websites
• Options to request an appointment via email or to call FCHO
