Help is on hand to manage budgets

Aire Valley Homes has employed a Leeds City Credit Union advisor to work with its Independent Living Support Team to help those tenants who are having difficulty managing their finances. 

Coming up to a time of year when many people borrow money to buy Christmas presents for their families, loan sharks prey on those who are unable to obtain a loan from other means.  The message is, ‘When borrowing, check out how much you will payback overall.’  Many people end up in difficulty when very high interest costs are added to a loan.

Leeds Credit Union can arrange loans at a much lower cost. 

Aire Valley Homes’ staff will be visiting Children’s Centres, local schools and neighbourhood housing offices to speak to our tenants about the impact of the Welfare Reform and how it might affect those currently in receipt of benefits.  We understand it can be a worrying time for many but we are available to offer advice.
