Aldwyck Housing scoops two prizes at Impact Awards
Aldwyck Housing Group took home two prizes at last night's East of England Community Impact Awards.
The group won the 'Safer Streets' category for its Next Generation Project - which has aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour by organising activities for young people such as football coaching - and also scooped the overall regional winner award.
In the other categories, Orbit East took the Better Health category for its 'Healthy Homes Healthy Lives' scheme, a service that offers vulnerable people advice on how to reduce cold and damp and avoid hazards.
CHP won the ‘Building Futures’ category for its Parkside Community Hub, a community centre that offers facilities such as meeting rooms and IT suites to help people gain new practical experience.
Completing the awards was the ‘Improving Neighbourhoods’ category, which was won by B3Living for its 'Positive Planting Project', which brought together young people who were facing exclusion from school to design and plant flowerbeds.
Harj Singh, Chief Executive of Aldwyck Housing Group, said: “This project has gone from strength to strength and its success is testament to the involvement and commitment of our partners, funders and the local community.
“I’m proud we have won both the safer streets category and be awarded overall winner. The award provides recognition of the success we have achieved by working with local residents to make their communities great places to live and is something we wish to build on for the future.”

Category: Building Futures - CHP, Freebridge Community Housing, Victory Housing Trust
