The results of the Havering 2012 Business Awards were announced this weekend and Commulite were the big winners, taking home the awards for both of their shortlisted categories, The Green Award and the Innovation Award.

A truly intelligent system, Commulite can be controlled instantly from anywhere in the world... it monitors and alerts the maintenance contractor in a fault situation, and carries out remote emergency lighting tests, while recording and data logging the results. It runs for 9 hours or more in emergency mode. It cuts energy bills by at least 65%, carbon emissions by at least 65% and lighting maintenance costs by 75%. So it’s easy to see how of the 40 finalists shortlisted this year, Commulite were the ones to scoop both the Green Award, judged by Faye Edwards of the Climate Energy Group, and the Innovation Award judged by John Scowen, Corporate Procurement Manger for London Borough of Havering.

Commulite Ltd’s Director John Bishop said, “It’s been such a privilege and honour to be involved with this prestigious awards programme. To find out that we have won both Innovation of the Year and the Green Award for 2012 means a great deal to all of us at Commulite, a double-wonder that has left us on a high! It’s great that other people have recognised something that we have been aware of for some time, which is that ours is the only truly intelligent LED lighting system available and we are proud to say that we have achieved greatness in British manufacturing”.

Commulite will be showcasing their intelligent lighting system at Homes 2012 on 14/15 November at ExCel London. Stand D17.  There will be the opportunity to see the system in action and see the benefits first hand.

Notes to Editors

A Commulite system uses cloud based technology to deliver secure and reliable access from anywhere in the world, it requires no data storage space and no network wiring.

The Commulite LED ‘fits’ other standard light fittings enabling the option of retrofitting to an existing system, thus no additional containment or extra light fittings are required for the installation... meaning no redecoration, no conduit alterations and no waste. It combines a variable normal communal lighting system and an emergency lighting system into a flexible single unit, and because the LED units consist of a large number of individual LEDs, arranged in several separate circuits, it means that a light is never completely out, so there are never any dark corners.

Most LED lamps run at 16 watts. Commulite intelligent lamps run at anything from 3.5, 7.0, 8.0, 10.5, 11.5 or 15.0 watts, dependent upon time of day, type of location, light levels, in fact any criteria you choose. And the low energy lamp units used in the Commulite system have a life FIVE times longer than fluorescent lamps, saving replacement costs and labour charges. Another huge advantage of the Commulite system is that the emergency lighting system is part of the normal lighting system, but with superior light levels to other emergency light packs. Therefore additional expensive emergency light packs and expensive replacement parts are not required. And with the option of low cost cloud based monitoring you can also avoid those costly monthly inspections. The emergency lighting levels provided by the Commulite system are far greater than the minimum requirements demanded by the latest building regulations, giving you and the occupants, peace of mind and safe emergency exit routes. With the emergency lighting running for 9 hours instead of the normal 3 hours, you are assured to always have spare emergency capability... even after the standard 3 hour testing.

Commulite are so confident in their system that they offer a no cost and no obligation energy survey and installation guide price and free pilot schemes, with an accurate pre and post installation energy assessment. And to top it all, an insurance backed warranty means that every installation is maintenance free for a minimum of five years.
