An impression of the new Vickertown homes
Accent Foundation has secured planning permission for the first of 11 new homes in Barrow, funded by the 2011-15 Affordable Homes Programme.
Accent will provide the homes for rent in the Vickerstown area of Barrow, as part of a larger development of 22 homes developed by partner contractor Leck Construction.
The three bedroom houses are due to be completed in January 2014. The brownfield site was formerly home to Vickerstown Primary School, which relocated to new premises in 2011.
The Affordable Homes Programme will enable Accent to deliver 105 new homes across 11 sites in the north east, north west and Yorkshire, and invest over £9 million in its core areas over the next three years.
