Nominees for the Stockport Homes STAR (Stockport Homes Tribute and Recognition) Awards were invited to attend a joint customer and staff awards evening at Stockport Town Hall of Friday 12 October 2012.
Winners and runners up were presented with their awards by the Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Wendy Meikle. They are:
Customer of the Year Award: Winner – Mike Gouldin, Runner up – Jackie Myerscough
Young Person’s Award (under 25 years): Winner – Joshua Reding and Nial Thomas, Runner up – Yvonne Mallard
Community Project Award: Winner – Cherry Tree Tenants’ and Residents’ Group, Runner up – Brinnington Youth Forum
Green Award: Winner – Temporary Accommodation Volunteers, Runner up – Oldham Drive Tenants’ and Residents’ Group.
The evening was kindly sponsored by DPG plc., British Gas, Dodd Group, Glendale Managed Services, ImageData Group, Warm Front Ltd., VerseOne Technologies, Wilkinson Cowan Partnership Ltd, Harding Building Services Ltd and Tunstall Healthcare.
A raffle was held on the evening raising £236 in aid of Night Stop, Stockport Homes’ charity of the year. This adds to the £12,000 already raised by Stockport Homes’ staff this year, including climbing Ben Nevis.
David Wright, Stockport Homes’ Board Member was compere for the evening and said of the event, “The awards evening is a great way to celebrate and show our appreciation to Stockport Homes’ customers who make a real difference in their community. Congratulations again to all nominees, they should feel very proud.”
