RHP's ONE Event 2012
Over 800 local jobseekers attended RHP’s ONE Event last week. The free employment event took place at York House, Twickenham on Wednesday 10 October and gave advice and support to those looking for jobs, training or apprenticeships.
Channel 4’s ‘Fairy Jobmother’, Hayley Taylor, was the star of the show and gave confidence boosting presentations to people who had been made redundant as well as young people struggling to break into the job market.
The National Careers Service helped visitors to polish up their CVs and interview skills, while Women Like Us and Dress for Success advised women looking to return to the workplace after a career break.
National employers like Barclays, Tesco, Mears and Lakehouse promoted their open vacancies and gave advice on how to apply. There were also 50 job vacancies available on the day via the live ‘Jobs Wall’, supported by RHP, JobCentre Plus and Richmond Council.
The event was supported by Richmond Council, L&Q Group, Thames Valley Housing and Richmond Churches Housing Trust.
