Kent-based mhs homes celebrated the opening of its latest development with a cake modelled on its design.
Mayor of Medway Cllr Vaughan Hewett joined customers to mark the opening of Fledgling Terrace, in Lordswood, Kent – a former garage site which has been transformed into six, two and three bedroom family homes for affordable rent.
The £850,000 development meets level three for sustainable homes and lifetime homes standards.
Michelle Gosnay, a mum-of-two, is among the first families to move in to the energy-efficient new homes.
She said: “It is a lovely family home, with lots of room and a good sized garden.
“Where I was living before I had to share a bedroom with my daughter, which was not ideal.
“Now we all have our own space. I love the kitchen too, because it is well designed with lots of cupboard space.
“The heating system works really well and although the weather is only just starting to get cold, I have noticed how warm the house is.”
Cllr Hewett said he was impressed with the design of the terrace.
He said: “It is good to see how well the new development blends with the area.
“They are good sized, quality, affordable homes. This is what we need in Medway.”
