Hyndburn Homes Repairs team and local residents have joined forces to raise more than £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Throughout September residents on the White Ash estate, Oswaldtwistle, and the Hyndburn Homes Repairs team have been running fundraising events in aid of the charity.
A ‘sausage butty’ event on September 7 saw tenants and the repairs team tucking into breakfast together. And last week residents and the workforce took part in the ‘World’s biggest Coffee Morning’ event on September 28.
Hyndburn Homes has been carrying out improvement works on the bungalows in White Ash and tenants have been delighted with the results. Both events were an opportunity for the residents and the repairs team, who’ve been working on the homes, to enjoy a chat.
Jayne Brignall, Hyndburn Homes tenant liaison co-ordinator, said: “To raise more than £300 for such a great cause as Macmillan Cancer Support is simply fantastic.
“The residents and members of the repairs team were really enthusiastic in their support of both events and there was much chatting and laughter at both!
“Events like this are a great way to nurture the sense of community spirit at White Ash as well as supporting a charity.
“We did our bit at Hyndburn Homes by donating a Marks and Spencer voucher as a raffle prize for the coffee morning.”
