Community Gateway Association (CGA) took part in National Customer Service Week (NCSW) by asking colleagues to nominate a CGA Customer Service Champion who delivers a great service to CGA’s tenants across Preston.

The week supported by the Institute of Customer Service (ICS) is an opportunity to celebrate customer service and highlight its importance to the success of individual organisations and the UK economy as a whole.

CGA are rightly proud of our “Purple People” a fact that has already been recognised by the organisation achieving IIP Gold (Champion) and Customer Service Excellence accreditation.  

Gateway Tenants’ Committee chair David Jones had the difficult task of choosing a winner from a group of 13 nominees.

Paul Trafford, who works as part of CGA’s Handyperson service was our winner after being nominated for going the extra mile by numerous colleagues, but in particular was a nomination from a colleague who gave an example of his dedication to helping his customers.

The nomination highlighted a recent job Paul completed for an elderly tenant.

The job required a specific light fitting which CGA usually do not have in stock; he arranged to visit a local store the same evening to get the right fitting and made arrangements to fit this for the tenant. All this whilst keeping the customer informed

The nomination also commented, “Paul cares deeply about the quality of his work and his customers; he is gaining a reputation not only with our tenants but with those outside of the organisation for being a reliable and caring workman generating income for CGA with his external and internal recharge work”

CGA‘s Director of Operations Dave Warlow said, “On a daily basis we hear stories from customers about the great service delivered by CGA colleagues both internally and externally so it was brilliant to see the number of nominations for our first CGA Customer Service Champion award. I would like to congratulate Paul and everyone else nominated who demonstrated the “Purple” ethos we have here at CGA.”
