A big Peterborough event called ‘Live, Laugh and Learn’ is being held at St Johns Church for all 55s and over by Cross Keys Homes on Monday, 1 October, UK older people’s day.

The free event will provide information on a number of issues including a Vivacity stand which will be offering advice on heritage, volunteering, sports and leisure.  There will also be stands from Wiltshire Farm Foods, Boots, University of the Third Age, Age UK, PECT regarding energy matters, Peterborough City Council, Lifeline and Cross Key Homes.

Jewellery will be on sale, free blood pressure checks by West Town Pharmacy will be on offer, and refreshments will be available all day.

The City College Bridge Street Shop will be open providing free complementary therapies and an exercise class aimed at the less mobile.

Melanie Cook, the event organiser at Cross Keys Homes, said:  “We are delighted to have arranged this day for the people of Peterborough aged 55 and over.  We hope as many people as possible come down and visit the numerous organisations that are there exhibiting and giving out invaluable advice.”

This is open to all members of the public and will be held at St Johns Church, Cathedral Square from 10.30am – 3.30pm on Monday 1 October.
