A team of runners from Halton Housing Trust have raised nearly £1000 for Halton Haven Hospice after completing the English Half Marathon.
The team included three staff and two friends of the Trust, including personal trainer Jimmy Connelly, who finished the Warrington race in an incredible 1hr 27. Dave Roberts, Customer Service Apprentice, was the fastest of the Halton Housing Trust staff, finishing the race in 1hr 56. Nick Atkin, Chief Executive, followed with a time of 1hr 58.
Nick said: “Despite the very warm running conditions all the team completed the race in good time and high spirits. Knowing that we were raising money for Halton Haven Hospice was worth all the preparation, sweat and blisters. So much so that we’ve signed up to do it all again next year, as well as having several others wanting to join us too.”
Trust staff plan to continue the running theme this year by taking part in the Cheshire Half and Conwy Half in November and Halton Haven Hospice’s annual Santa Dash in December.
