Lincolnshire based housing association Acis Group is helping tenants find employment and further training via the launch of their latest employability support programme.

Acis, who own and manage over 5,300 homes across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire, first launched the ‘Just the Job’ programme in 2011 to assist tenants in gaining the skills they needed to get back into work or training.

Due to the success of the course a new Just the Job programme is now being held in October, with more opportunities scheduled for the coming months.

The course, in partnership with Riverside Training, is aimed at supporting Acis tenants in returning to work or supporting them to become ‘job ready’. This means it is open to those seeking employment but who were unable to find work, as well as those already in work but looking to increase their skills bank in order to progress further. Participants will be given information, advice and guidance about training and career opportunities, taught how to produce a CV, covering letters and complete application forms, and provided with interview techniques and improved job searching skills

Rachel Cook, Community Cohesion Manager for Acis, said:

“Just the Job is a great example of working together with our tenants to help find a future path that suits them. It is specifically designed for our tenants, supporting those looking to up-skill or return to work. Just the Job aims to give people the skills for work and skills for life, providing employment support in key areas. The course is open to all Acis tenants and is being held at the Park Springs Community Centre in Gainsborough, starting on 2 October.”

Acis and Riverside Training will be running the programme on an ongoing basis to support more tenants back to work, with further intakes later in the year.
