£100 million in affordable housing contracts secured
A construction company has announced that it has secured £100m worth of affordable housing contracts.
Galliford Try has finalised a £52m deal to redevelop the St Clement's hospital site in Mile End, East London. The 223 homes project will deliver 54 affordable homes. A further 21 homes will be granted to London's first Community Land Trust.
The building firm is also to bring 170 new homes to the Gallions Quarter development in East London, in a £23m deal; and will build a 101-apartment retirement village in Malvern, Worcestershire, a contact worth £11.8m.
The Homes and Communities Agency has confirmed Galliford Try as the successful bidder for the regeneration of Blackberry Hill Hospital in Bristol.
Galliford Try Chief Executive, Greg Fitzgerald, said: “Galliford Try’s strong record in regeneration projects has been instrumental in securing us these significant contracts. We will continue to work with our partners in government and the housing industry to provide much-needed affordable housing wherever we can.”
