All at the zoo
Cross Keys Homes’ Community Fund has recently helped families, that have been living in hostel accommodation after becoming homeless, to go on an outing to Hamerton Zoo. The fund provided the group with £677.60 for transport, entrance costs and lunch.
Helen Hutchinson, Young People’s and Families Manager, Cross Keys Homes, said: “It is very hard to do things with the children while working to a very tight budget. These families don’t always get to do things together so this really helps them to have some fun and enjoy each other’s company. Also, in the Hostel, some of the families don’t know many people in the area as they have moved from other locations, so it helps people to get to know each other and build new friendships.”
