Stockport Homes’ football event scores a winner!

The fourth annual free football event for the children of Stockport Homes’ tenants and leaseholders was held on 23 August. The event was a shooting success with 70 young people aged 8-14 taking part. 

The day of activities (held at the brand new venue of Stockport Sports Village in Woodley) was organised by Stockport Homes in partnership Stockport County Football Club and Life Leisure. 

Children took part in a pre-practical / technical session (decision-making and fun games); structured small-sided games; and a mini football tournament. All the children who attended received a medal, certificate and goody bag with two free tickets to see Stockport County. 

Nicola Green, Customer Involvement Officer, Stockport Homes said, “Everyone who attended really enjoyed their day of football fun. The day was a great success and all the children who attended are already looking forward to next year’s event.”
