HR team have their eyes on the prize

Riverside’s award-winning HR team has been shortlisted for another national award.

The team, which scooped the HR Team of the Year gong at the Housing Heroes Awards earlier this year, is now in the running for a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development award.

Riverside has been named as a finalist in the Building HR Capability category at the CIPD’s People Management Awards.

The housing sector is under increasing pressure to do more with less so Riverside needed a HR department that was up to the task. Over four years, the organisation has developed a one-stop HR service centre from scratch. It has built a team equipped to deliver all levels of HR support from payroll to facilities, increasing customer satisfaction in the process.

Riverside’s Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, Gill Smith, said: “Our team has made a huge leap in a short space of time to bring about major changes to Riverside from RISE - our talent management programme - to our self service system which means that staff can manage their own holidays and expense claims, as well as access benefits and rewards – just a few of our innovative projects that place colleagues at the heart of the business.”

Earlier this year Riverside was also named as a finalist in the Employer Brand of the Year category of the CIPD Recruitment Advertising and Design Awards.
