A local resident has been handed the keys to a brand new home after work was completed on the latest development of much-needed affordable housing in Rochford district.

The new homes in Oaklands Mews, Hawkwell, have been made available for rent by Rochford Housing Association, part of leading housing and care provider Sanctuary Group.

Resident Charlene Winstanley has collected the keys to her brand new house from Rochford Housing Association’s Managing Director, Emma Keegan.

Miss Winstanley said: “My family and I are delighted with our new home, we have lots of room and I know we will be really happy here.”

The three 3-bedroom properties have been built by Fairview Homes and funded by Sanctuary Group and the Homes and Communities Agency. The eco-friendly houses include the latest energy efficient features such as solar panels.

Rochford Housing Association’s Managing Director Emma Keegan said: “This project is just one of many new housing developments helping to provide essential new affordable homes within Rochford district. We are delighted that we are able to help local residents find a home and look forward to working with our partners to be able to provide more accommodation locally.”

Over the last few months Rochford Housing has completed 23 new apartments in Rayleigh as well as starting work on 19 new homes in the area.
