Runners from Halton Housing Trust are gearing up to raise money for Halton Haven Hospice by competing in the English Half Marathon.

For the fourth consecutive year, the team will run a gruelling 13.1 miles around Warrington, aiming to meet their £2000 fundraising target.

Chief Executive Nick Atkin, one of the six runners taking part, said: “Our nominated charity, Halton Haven Hospice, deliver some fantastic work that has such a huge impact upon the lives of thousands of local people. We would urge as many people as possible to support us by pledging money to make all the pain and blisters worthwhile!”

The group, which includes friends of the Trust, have been training over lunchtimes to prepare for the race on Sunday 9th September. If you would like to offer support, you can donate on their justgiving page - www.justgiving.com/Halton-Housing-Trust-Half-Marathon-2012

The English Half Marathon begins in Victoria Park and follows a route through South Warrington. If you would like to cheer on the team, they will be easily recognisable in high visibility shirts and Halton Housing Trust logos.
