Participants in last year's 'Move In, Move On' celebrate success
Welwyn Hatfield Community Housing Trust is working in partnership with Oaklands College for the second year running to help tenants manage their homes.
A series of short, interactive workshops will be held to help tenants make the most of their money; provide help with finding a job, managing a tenancy and creating healthy meals on a budget. There will even be a practical DIY session! The workshops are all free to attend and the first session includes lunch.
The course is open to council tenants, particularly those beginning a tenancy for the first time and anyone else who might benefit from developing these essential skills.
Paul Wren, Chair of the Trust’s Management Board said: “This course provides excellent support and advice for tenants who need help with managing their home independently – often for the first time.
These skills will help tenants make the most of their homes and feel confident in accessing the services they need. ‘Move In, Move On’ is an important part of the Trust’s key commitment to our local community.”
Notes to Editor:
‘Move In, Move On’ begins on Wednesday 12 September.
The first session will be held at Welwyn Hatfield Housing Maintenance Team’s office on Hydeway, Welwyn Garden City. Subsequent sessions will be held at the Pomegranate Cafe on Woodhall Lane, Welwyn Garden City.
Lunch will be provided for the first session. Reasonable out of pocket expenses for transport or childcare will be provided.
