LHT tackling tenant unemployment with 'talent pool'
Liverpool Housing Trust (LHT) has launched a 'talent pool' in a bid to get its tenants into work.
Tenants across Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire are already taking part in the scheme which offers training courses and volunteering opportunities, as well as regular updates on new jobs, college courses and community activities.
LHT's regeneration team are using Facebook to communicate with tenants, and each 'talent pool' participant has the option to be emailed personalised opportunities as they come up.
The regeneration team's Stephanie Hodgson said: “We already have almost 100 people signed up to the LHT ‘Talent Pool’ which is fantastic considering we only launched it in July.
“We often get to hear about jobs, training and volunteering opportunities first so we are sharing that information with our tenants in a way that’s personalised for them so they are only getting emails from us that are relevant to what they are looking for."
The 'talent pool' is part of a year-long campaign to help hundreds of the unemployed into jobs, and is not just aimed at LHT tenants but extends to residents in the communities where it has its 10,000 homes.
