Violent tenant given the boot
Sheffield Council has evicted a violent tenant who damaged his social property and threatened his neighbours.
Keith Rose, 49, of Smelter Wood Crescent, Stradbroke, was in frequent breach of an ASBO he was given in 2006.
Rose was jailed for 16 weeks for the damage he caused to the council property, and was also ordered to pay the council's costs of £740.
In one incident, he dragged an electric cooker away from a wall causing a trailing wire to burn the floor.
The council was given an immediate possession order by Sheffield County Court in July.
After applying for a warrant to enforce the order, Rose was finally evicted this week.
Councillor Harry Harpham, Cabinet Member for Homes and Neighbourhoods, said: “We will not tolerate continued anti-social behaviour or criminal damage in any of our properties.
“The behaviour of Mr Rose is absolutely disgusting. He has made his neighbours' lives a misery and we will not stand for that.
“We expect tenants to treat their homes and neighbours with respect – if they don’t, we will take appropriate legal action, which could ultimately lead to eviction.
