Merlin Housing Society staff were crowned champions for the second year running at the society’s annual five-a-cider football competition recently.
Fifteen teams took part in the tournament, including Yarlington Housing Association from Yeovil, Sovereign South West and Knightstone. Contractors who work with the housing associations also entered teams including Pace, Mitie, Halsalls and Bevan Brittan.
Aside from the football, over £x was raised for the Tom Hunt Trust – the society’s corporate charity as voted for by its staff, from the sale of raffle tickets.
Merlin’s Communications Officer, Jessica Britton said: “It was a great night! Everyone seemed to have a good time. Local printing company Pace, were runners up after narrowly being beaten, and third place went Nandos.
“Nandos also support the Tom Hunt Trust, so it was great to have them come along. And we thank them for donating dinner for the winning team – they were thrilled.”
