Housing officers from Leicester’s largest affordable housing provider have been out pounding the streets visiting 400 homes in just two days to welcome new tenants joining from another housing association.
Last month Asra Midlands Housing Association merged with asra Housing Group, with 30 staff also transferring to the organisation’s Bede Island headquarters.
asra Housing Group’s team spent time talking with residents about the merger and the positive impact it is already having on services.
Laura Morgan, Service Delivery Manager of asra Housing Group, said: “Visiting residents in their homes was a useful way to gauge reaction to the transfer and listen to any concerns.
“It also gave us the opportunity to talk about the extensive services the Group has to offer and the customer support we can provide for people of all ages.”
The merger brings asra Housing Group’s housing stock to more than 13,000 and strengthens its presence in the East Midlands.
Mahomed Hashim, a resident of Coriander Road, said: “It was great to put a face to a name and have the chance to get to know the people looking after the property. It’s made the service more personalised and I’m hoping we’ll see a lot more benefits out of it now we understand more about the transfer.”
