Lynn Stubbs helping in the local comunity
Lynn Stubbs, Director of Business Services at Spire Homes has trekked across Namibia and worked with a local community to help raise money for charity. Lynn joined a group of 20 people on this challenge.
£55,000 has been raised so far and this amount is still growing. The money will help Homeless International, a charity that works across Asia and Africa, to help improve the lives and living conditions of some of the poorest people in the world.
Lynn spent three days working with the local community in Namibia to help make a difference to their homes and community. The group made enough bricks to build 2 houses, demolished 4 shacks and dug foundations for 6 new homes. They then trekked through riverbeds, sands and mountains to complete their challenge.
Lynn said, “I was able to see first-hand the incredible difference the money raised will make to people living in some of the poorest living conditions imaginable. It was a demanding challenge (especially physically) but exceptionally rewarding and a very humbling experience spending time with people with such incredible spirit, despite the daily challenges they face.”
