Social landlords dealing with 300,000 ASB cases a year
Social landlords in England and Wales are dealing with up to 300,000 incidents of anti-social behaviour (ASB) every year.
But the findings from HouseMark's ASB benchmarking system show that 90% of ASB cases end after they have been reported to the landlord.
Most ASB incidents reported by social landlords fall into the National Standard for Incident Recording (NSIR) nuisance category, with noise being the most common ASB and making up a third of cases.
Less than 1% of cases are resolved by the perpetrators eviction.
HouseMark has estimated that the housing management cost of ASB is nearly £300 million a year.
