New Progress holds its first Community Safety Week

This August New Progress Housing Association will be holding its first ever Community Safety Week.
From the 20-24 August, a full programme of events will help makeSouth Ribblea safer place to live.
Activities will include: bicycle safety, a day in the life of the Tenancy Enforcement Team; an introduction to the new powers to tackle anti-social behaviour and mediations skills.
The week will launch at a prestigious opening ceremony at The Best Western, Leyland Hotel on Monday 20 August, where we will be announcing the winners of our Good Neighbour Awards. The awards recognise the excellent work that residents do to contribute to their communities, from looking out for an elderly neighbour to starting up a local community group. We will also announce the winners of our Standing Up For Your Community award, for those who have made a difference in reducing crime or anti-social behaviour in their community.
Refuse skip drops will also take place throughout the week acrossBamberBridge, the Wade Hall and Broadfield estates in Leyland, Penwortham andAccringtonencouraging residents to clear out any unwanted bulky items that they may normally have left in their garages, drives or gardens or would have to pay to be removed.
Out of Hours walkabouts will also be held during the week with New Progress Housing Association’s Tenancy Enforcement Team going out on police visits to identify anti-social behaviour hotspots.
