Gilmartins awarded 10 year contract with Origin Housing

We are delighted to confirm that we have chosen Gilmartins as our new responsive repairs contractor. This is following an extensive tendering process that started last year, with 25 expressions of interest from both large and small contractors.
Gilmartins throughout the competitive dialogue process showed a great understanding of our requirements and their proposed solution provides the “best fit” in meeting our ambitions for the service.
The contract is for a 5 year period with the option to extend in stages to a full 10 years. Whilst we are moving forward with the present contractor it will not be a case of “more of the same” and this will allow us to develop the service with Gilmartins as a new long term partnership.
The contract will offer:
- A simplified price per property approach which aligns Gilmartins with ourselves and develops a more proactive approach to maintenance
- Closer joint working of the call centre giving the team an integrated approach to call handling and repairs management giving greater flexibility to appointment booking
- A greater focus on customer service both to our tenants and Origin internal departments
The contract is due to go live on 1 October.
