A housing advice manager at a Derbyshire-based housing association has been crowned this year's 24housing magazine's Young Leader of the Year.

Futures Homescape's Sara Parkin, 30, fought off strong competition from Helena Partnerships' Rachel Molyneux, Stockport Homes' Joanne Claridge, Midland Heart's Hannah Boyd and former Homes for Haringey employee Aaron Peake.

Since becoming leader of the homelessness team at 5,500-home Futures, she has helped cut B&B usage by 93 per cent.
