£17m mixed-tenure scheme opened in Chiswick
A £17m mixed-tenure scheme by One Housing Group has been opened in Chiswick, Ealing.
The Bollo Lane development consists of 14 homes for general needs, 13 for shared ownership and 29 for private sale.
The scheme - which was opened by Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Hitesh Tailor - also features 1050 square metres of commercial space, which it is hoped will encourage local business and create jobs.
Alan Williams, Group Development Director at One Housing Group, said: "We are delighted to open our first development in the borough of Ealing. The mix of private and affordable properties at this scheme will help to cultivate a balanced, sustainable community.
"Bollo Lane is a great example of how our development model is working. Even with reduced grants, we are using the profit from our private sales to enable us to continue building affordable homes."
Cllr Tailor said: “I am delighted to be opening these new homes at Bollo Lane. In Ealing we remain committed to meeting the needs of those who face overcrowded, poor quality and unsuitable accommodation.
"These high quality private and affordable homes are improving the physical environment and social mix, whilst helping develop homes and communities that are places where people really want to live.”
Bollo Lane was previously an outdated industrial unit, and has been built with sustainability in mind. The development is sympathetic to the local surroundings and is fitted with solar panels and green roofs to attract local wildlife.
