Planning permission has been granted for 50 new houses in Bagworth, Leicestershire.

Persimmon Homes North Midlands will being work on the houses along with a 5,000 square foot commercial unit in September.

The development will create a new community for the people of Bagworth with contributions given to the provision of education, highways, open space and affordable housing under a Section 106 agreement.

Paul Hurst, managing director for Persimmon Homes North Midlands, said: “We welcome this news and look forward to getting construction underway in Bagworth.

“The development will provide a mix of two, three and four bedroom units within easy reach of the M1 and assistance will be provided through a number of housing initiatives to help people take their first step or move up the property ladder with ease.”
