Community Clean Up
There was a real sense of community in Northwich, Cheshire recently when local residents and staff from Equity Housing Group got together in Pullman Drive to tidy up the local area.
With skips arriving first thing in the morning, it didn’t take long before everyone started mucking in together and set about removing items of rubbish from gardens, homes and communal areas. In fact they went about their work so enthusiastically that more skips had to be ordered.
The project came about as a result of area inspections and conversations with local residents. As well as improving the area, it was also a chance for Equity to meet and talk to customers from the 56 homes within the scheme about any neighbourhood issues affecting them. Equity’s Financial Inclusion Team were also on hand to provide advice and information about the proposed changes to Welfare Benefit and how it might affect residents.
By working together, everyone involved has made a massive difference to the area. Equity’s Executive Director of Customer Services, Andrei Szatkowski said; “It’s great to see colleagues and customers working together like this. We’ve been talking to and listening to our customers about how we can improve our services and neighbourhoods. Today is just the start of a series of projects we will be carrying out over the next few months.”
Next up for Pullman Drive will be some landscaping improvements and consultation about further improvements.
