Chorley Community Housing (CCH) tenants will now be able to pay their rents on the move with the release of a new smartphone application.

Released by payment services company allpay, the application is a free download for iPhone and Android.

CCH Arrears Manager Elaine Jackson said:  “More and more of our tenants have access to the internet via smartphones.  This app means that our tenants now have the facility to pay their rent 24 hours a day whether they are in Chorley or China.”

Once downloaded, tenants can access their accounts via the app and make a payment - with their payment reference numbers, bank card details and payment amounts handily remembered by the software for ease of use.

Elaine added:  “The app couldn’t be simpler to use.  Once the account is set up, tenants can also create a 4 digit PIN number to access the app so they don’t need to go through a lengthy login process every time to use it.”

CCH Director of Operations Richard Houghton said:  “Being able to make a rent payment from your smartphone must be the quickest and most convenient way to pay.

"This is in addition to the many ways that tenants can already pay their rent, from calling into our offices to pay cash through to ringing our contact centre and paying over the telephone.”
