Steve Walker, CEO of the AmicusHorizon Group, is to step down at the end of the year.

Mr Walker joined in October 2008 when the Group was under regulatory supervision.

On his appointment, he was asked by the board to amalgamate the then group structure of six housing associations to form AmicusHorizon Ltd, and introduce a new resident led governance structure.

He was also required to implement an organisational review and improve the control framework.

Under his direction, AmicusHorizon has become a a co-regulatory champion for work with its residents - the only large association in the south to achieve this - and a Sunday Times Top 10 Best Company to Work for.

AmicusHorizon is one of the largest housing associations in the South West and manages 28,000 homes. Its assets total £663 million.

The vacant CEO position will be advertised shortly.
