Hanson Structherm is supplying its structural external wall insulation (SEWI) system to a major housing refurbishment scheme in St Helens.
The 10-week project for Helena Partnerships will see 37 non-traditional Airey properties upgraded using more than 4,200 square metres of SEWI.
It is the first time that Hanson Structherm has worked with the housing association although its SEWI system has been used on other Airey prefabricated properties across the country.
Technical manager Ben Edmondson said: “We worked closely with Helena Partnerships and contractor Bramall Construction to provide the most cost effective external refurbishment for the project.
“Our SEWI system provides structural stability while greatly improving the thermal performance of houses, reducing both CO2 emissions and on-going energy costs. It also allows the refurbishment work to be carried out while residents remain in their homes, minimising disruption.”
