Trust's homes get starring role
Homes built by Halton Housing Trust are being filmed for an ITV drama series.
'Homefront', a new show centered on the wives and girlfriends of soldiers serving in Afghanistan, is being partly filmed in Avondale Close, Widnes.
For every day of filming, ITV will donate £200 to Halton's nominated charity, Halton Haven Hospice.
Anna Lambert, Halton Communications Manager, said: "We have worked alongside ITV Studios to ensure our residents have been kept informed about the filming schedule and that there will be minimal disruption to them.
“The road will be kept open and access to homes will be available at all times.”
The production team will be periodically filming in the neighbourhood until early August.
The scenes shot in Avondale Close will feature throughout the new six-part series that stars Claire Skinner, Greg Wise, Clare Higgins, George Costigan, Nicola Stephenson, Antonia Thomas and Warren Brown, and which will be aired on ITV1 in the autumn.
“It will be great to see the homes on television and it is brilliant that our chosen charity for the year, Halton Haven Hospice, will receive much-needed funds as part of this project,” Anna Lambert continued.
Kevin Jackson, Location Manager for ITV Studios, said: “We always aim to minimise disruption where possible, when shooting in and around people’s homes.
“The residents who live in Avondale Close have been given my contact details and we endeavour to work closely with them.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their cooperation and support.”
