Sheffield Homes’ latest dope dealer eviction Sheffield Homes’ latest dope dealer eviction

Sheffield Homes has evicted one of its residents for cannabis-related offences.

The latest expulsion follows a spate of similar recent incidents for the social landlord.

Between March 2011-12, Sheffield Homes ejected 15 tenants for anti-social behaviour, six of which were cannabis-related.

The dope dealing tenant, Richard Paul Landrygan, of Challoner Way, Westfield, was convicted of possession of cannabis with intent to supply at Sheffield Crown Court.

During a search of his home last September, police found 50 grams of cannabis bush, a large quantity of small plastic 'dealer' bags and a set of digital scales.

The convicted 42-year-old was evicted on 27 June after Sheffield Council applied for a warrant for possession of the property.

Councillor Harry Harpham, Cabinet Member for Homes and Neighbourhoods, said: “We will use all the legal powers at our disposal if a tenant carries out criminal activity in one of our properties.

“Eviction is always a last resort but we will continue to take strong action against those who choose to breach their tenancy conditions.”
