A London ALMO says it has received its highest satisfaction rating from residents.

Since it was set up 10 years ago, CityWest Homes, which manages almost 22,000 homes on behalf of Westminster Council, says it has significantly improved the quality of housing in the city.

Tenant satisfaction with how estates are managed has increased considerably in the same period, it says, with the ALMO now having achieved its highest satisfaction rating of 86%. This, it says, is a leading result in the capital.

The ratings reflect some key areas of improvement for residents over the past year, including the installation of solar panel across several of its estates, improved insulation to homes, boiler upgrades and the opening of new area service centres.

Cllr Jonathan Glanz, Westminster Council’s cabinet member for housing and corporate property, said: “CityWest Homes continues to raise the standard of service provided to our tenants and leaseholders.

“The satisfaction of our tenants towards this service has never been better and this is thanks to the hard work and innovation that CityWest Homes has carried out over the years.

“We are working closely with CityWest Homes to identify key improvements for next year, including the reduction of anti-social behaviour, tackling illegal subletting and enhancing the quality of leaseholder and major works services.”

Mark Hoyland, chief executive, CityWest Homes, said: “These results demonstrate our commitment to providing our residents with the highest standard of customer service.

“Our residents’ rate satisfaction in a number of areas, which include value for money, repairs, local neighbourhood and participation opportunities.

“Over the past year, we have been working hard to improve opportunities on our estates for the local community, through closer engagement with residents and by making homes more sustainable and affordable.

“The safety of our communities is also a key priority for us. We are working closely with the council to resolve issues such as anti-social behaviour more effectively.

“Over the next year, we are looking at making further improvements to the quality of leaseholder services and reviewing our major works strategy.”
