Beechwood Ballantyne Community Housing Association (BBCHA) recently went in search of the best local talent at a Party in the Park event held in Wirral.
Crowds of over 500 people gathered in Greenacres Park, Bidston to watch the talent contest take place, which was organised by BBCHA as part of the “The Big Lunch 2012” celebration.
The Party in the Park event was free for residents thanks to funding from BBCHA and other housing associations including; Riverside, Plus Dane Group and The Regenda Group. Local businesses and residents supported the event and helped to provide refreshments throughout the day.
Local residents could enjoy music by local bands, pony rides and face painting before watching the eagerly anticipated talent content take place. Staff from BBCHA took the role of the judges and chose singer Katie Hanlon to be crowned the winner.
BBCHA Neighbourhood Estate Officer Lee Mottram said: “There is a wealth of creative talent in Wirral and the Party in the Park was a chance to showcase some of the fantastic acts. It was a great opportunity for members of the local community to get together and we are proud that BBCHA could be involved and help make it happen.”
