Parkway Green is delighted to annouce that our Resident Involvement Manager Dean Slavin was crowned the winner of Inside Housing’s and the Chartered Institute of Housings Rising Stars 2012 Competition

He was named the winner at the final session of the CIH annual conference in Manchester and beat off competition from the other finalists Scott Bryant from Monmouthshire Housing Association and Inti Popat from LHA-Asra in an extremely closely fought competition that came down to the wire.

Over the past couple of months the finalists have faced a range of different challenges including blogs, campaigns and speeches, culminating in their appearances at the conference in a bid to find the UK’s most talented young housing professional.

Dean’s idea to make a difference in the housing world was ‘Communities of Choice’ and he spent the conference campaiging his idea to members of the public and housing.

As winner, Dean will get to spend a day with the housing minister, as well opportunities to write for Inside Housing and appear at future CIH conferences.

Dean said, “I’m absolutely delighted to win - it’s fantastic to receive recognition on a national level as it makes all our hard work here at Parkway Green worthwhile. All the other finalists were fantastic and I’ve made some great friends. A huge thankyou to everyone who supported me and voted in the competition”
