Housing providers’ measured eco performance to be announced at national asset management conference

The Homes conference is the event of year for those addressing the strategic and operationalissues around repairs and maintenance, sustainability and retrofit. The conference, held in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Housing, Inside Housing and Ocean Media Group will take place on 14th to 15thNovember at the Excel Centre.
Repairs, maintenance and sustainability have the greatest impact on cost in the housing sector. Repairs and maintenance are estimated to cost housing providers more than £10 billion per year. Retrofit and sustainability challenges are growing in importance. This market is estimated to grow exponentially as housing providers look to move to a low carbon future. The Green Deal is set to launch November 2012. Government are expected to use Homes and other forums to provide detail on how the Green Deal will roll out.
This national event is designed to guide enable decision makers to gain the latest repairs and maintenance guidance and research. Attendees at the conference will be Directors, Property Services Managers, Managers of Repairs and Maintenance in both the private and public sector. Architects, surveyors, contractors and property developers are also likely to be in attendance. Exhibitors booked include Apollo, Axis, Breyer, Calfordseadon, Echelon, Fusion21, Kier, M3, Mears, Mitie, Morrison, Sitexorbix, VINCI facilities, Willmott Dixon and Wolseley.
A centre point for the conference will be the formal dinner on the evening of the 14th of November. Over 700 chief executives, directors and senior managers will be in attendance. We are very excited to announce that the 2012/13 SHIFT members will receive recognition of their performance in reducing their environmental impacts at the Homes conference dinner.
