New joint venture to deliver repairs services helps create local apprenticeships

South Liverpool Homes (SLH) has embarked on a joint venture with Speke based Penny Lane Builders to provide repairs for tenants across South Liverpool.
The new company is called SLH Home Service and will deliver repairs and maintenance to SLH’s 3600 homes. The joint venture builds on the successful partnership SLH already have with Penny Lane Builders, who have been delivering repairs to their homes since 2008.
Forty-five staff from Penny Lane Builders and SLH has formed the new company and a number of local apprenticeship opportunities have also been created.
SLH Home Service is operating from Penny Lane’s existing site in Speke.
Wayne Gales, SLH’s Director of Operations said “The new repairs service will generate significant efficiencies that will enable us to provide more investment in our homes and the services we deliver to our customers. Penny Lane has a sound track record of delivery and we are looking forward to seeing the benefits that the new venture will bring to our tenants and the local community.”
