John Bercow MP, the Speaker of the House of Commons, visited Hale Village in Tottenham on Wednesday 14th March to open Newlon House, the new headquarters of the Newlon Group.
Newlon House is a purpose-built landmark building at the heart of the major regeneration programme at Hale Village. It provides a new home for 150 staff of Newlon Housing Trust, Outward and Newlon Fusion.
Newlon is providing nearly 550 new affordable homes at Hale Village, which is a £400 million regeneration scheme and currently one of the largest projects of its kind in London.
Mr Bercow was given a brief tour of Hale Village, including visiting De Havilland Court, the first block of new affordable homes to be completed.
At a reception attended by 250 guests he commended the Newlon Group on its commitment to the regeneration of the local area and for providing support and care to people who need additional assistance to fulfil their potential.
It is hoped that the inward investment at Hale Village will be a catalyst for the further regeneration of Tottenham.
