Earlier this month vacant property specialist SitexOrbis won the Most Innovative New Product of the Year category in the Housing Innovation Awards held at London’s Millennium Gloucester Hotel. More than 350 people attended this inaugural event on 1 March which honours organisations in the housing sector including landlords, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers or partner agencies which have demonstrated innovation.
Against an initial nomination list of more than 30, and a strong shortlist of five, SitexOrbis took home the trophy for its integrated void property solution which combines property security with 24/7 monitored battery-powered videofied alarms. This is backed up by Aura, SitexOrbis’ real-time web-based workflow management and reporting systems enabling customers to instruct, control and track the progress of jobs undertaken by their contractors.
The solution, which recently saved a Liverpool social housing provider an estimated £1 million by preventing the theft of boilers from its empty properties, is testament to SitexOrbis’ innovative approach to the market. The organisation is constantly looking at new ways to support customers through effective void management, improving turnaround times and reducing waste and cost.
The judges said: “ ‘Leaner and greener’ is the philosophy behind this remote wireless technology that enables a discrete 24/7 ‘eye’ to be kept on void properties. The silent alarms are motion-triggered and send short video ‘bursts’ to a control centre, where operators can quickly decide whether and what action is needed, reducing the need for expensive site visits.”
“We are delighted to win this innovation award,” said SitexOrbis’ head of marketing Debansu Das, pictured above left with Mark Cosh, SitexOrbis’ sales and marketing director and Nigel Barr from Stadia. “It highlights the way the business has been transformed and is recognition of our customer-centric, innovative solutions for vacant property management and our determination to help customers achieve more for less cost.”
In the last 18 months, SitexOrbis has won 13 major awards for excellence for its customer service; eMAKS, an intelligent remotely programmable key; and the videofied solution among others.
